How a lab works
Read the task. Build it. Check it.
The task
A short brief describing the end state, the way a ticket would at work.
The environment
A terminal and an AWS console view that share the same state, seeded for the lab.
The check
Your work is compared with the lab's expectations: graded on the end state and the steps each task asks for.
Audit a broken AWS account: network, access, encryption and alerting
Why the API cannot reach the database
labiqo-api-01 cannot open a connection to labiqo-orders-db. The application waits, then times out. It is never refused.
Modes
Exam mode and Practical mode
Exam mode
FreeTimed, with no solution to read. You can still run a check as you work, and it answers with a verdict and how close you are rather than naming which expectations failed. It is the run that counts towards your readiness and the one that can close a domain on the learning path.
Practical mode
PremiumUntimed, with step-by-step instructions, a solution for every task, and a check you can run whenever you like that names which expectations failed. It is for learning the lab rather than measuring yourself, so it does not count towards readiness.
Premium is bought per certification. 6 months of access, 14-day refund, no questions asked. Compare plans
In the terminal
One environment, graded on what is in it
One session, three tools
Linux, Terraform and the AWS CLI share one environment, so a resource you create with Terraform is there when you inspect it with the CLI.
Start over any time
Reset the lab and the environment is rebuilt from scratch. It clears what you have done, and in exam mode the timer keeps running.
Graded on the end state
The check reads the infrastructure you ended up with and the steps each task asks for: the resources, the files, the outputs, the state, and the questions the task puts to you.
