FAQ

Common questions

Do I need an AWS account or a credit card?

No to both. The terminal and console run in your browser against a simulated AWS account, so there is no cloud account to connect and no cloud bill. Every mock exam is free and the free plan does not ask for a card.

Is the lab environment real AWS?

No, and that is deliberate: it is a simulator that runs in your browser, with a terminal for Linux, Terraform and the AWS CLI and a read-only console showing the resources your commands created. Nothing touches an AWS account, so there is no cloud account to connect and no cloud bill. Modules load from local paths only, and when a command is not supported the terminal says so and tells you what to do instead.

Which exam versions do you cover?

Terraform Associate (004), Terraform Authoring and Operations Advanced, AWS Solutions Architect Professional (SAP-C02) and AWS CloudOps Engineer Associate (SOA-C03). AWS retires SAP-C02 on Nov 16, 2026. Each certification's own page carries its version note.

What's the difference between exam mode and study mode?

Exam mode is timed and full length and uses the exam's own pass mark, so it measures where you stand, and it is free on every certification. Study mode is untimed and gives you the correct answer and the explanation as you pick each one; it is part of Premium for that certification.

What are diagram questions?

Questions where you place services into an architecture diagram instead of picking a sentence. The question counts as right only when every slot is right, and the review afterwards walks through each slot with the correct service marked.

What exactly is free?

Every mock exam and every question in exam mode, the diagram questions, the whole sandbox and the general labs on every certification. Premium adds study mode, the learning path with its diagnostic, the domain labs with practical mode, and AI feedback.

Is Premium a subscription?

Premium is a one-off payment for one certification, and it runs for six months. Nothing renews, there is no card kept on file, and there is nothing to cancel. Buying the same certification again adds six months to the date you already hold.

What happens after 6 months?

That certification goes back to the free plan: every mock exam and question in exam mode, the diagram questions, the sandbox and the general labs stay available. Study mode, the learning path and the domain labs stop. Your attempts and results are kept, so nothing you have already done is lost.

Can I get Premium for more than one certification?

Yes. Each certification is bought separately and has its own six months, so you can hold Premium on one exam while another stays on the free plan.

Who am I buying from, and what will my statement say?

The product is ours and the payment is taken by Stripe, as the merchant of record, through its reseller Link. The checkout page says “Sold through Link”, your receipt comes from Link, and your statement will read LINK.COM beside our name. We stay responsible for the course, the labs and your account, and we can issue a refund ourselves.

How do refunds work?

There is a 14-day refund policy, and because Link is the seller of record you also keep the statutory cooling-off right if you are a consumer in the EU or the UK. The refund page sets out both routes and exactly when each applies.
